The Southeastern Film Critics Association (SEFCA) announced their 22nd annual awards on December 16th, 2013 with giving away the Best Film award to 12 Years a Slavedirected and co-produced by Steve McQueen who also won the Best Director award. All the winners are somewhat reasonable and there aren't any shocks or surprises.

Last year, 6 SEFCA winners won the Oscars, i.e. Best Film for Argo, Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence, Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway, Best Adapted Screenplay for Chris Terrio and Best Cinematography for Claudio Miranda. History might repeat itself this time again because last year, Zero Dark Thirty was the favorite in the beginning and later it was Argo, but this year mostly 12 Years a Slave is the favorite so far.
