5th Annual Indiana Film Journalists Association Awards

Screen-Shot-2013-12-17-at-20.44.24

The Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) announced their 5th annual awards on December 19th, 2013 with giving away the Best Film award to 12 Years a Slavedirected and co-produced by Steve McQueen who also won the Best Director award. Her was the runner-up in both of the categories aforementioned. It's great to see Her getting much love from the critics.

I've got no problem with the winners and IFJA's choices this year except including Spring Breakers in the final list of top films and GRAVITY IS NOT EVEN IN THE LIST!!! Also, not making Jared Leto even a runner-up in Best Supporting Actor category. I have no idea what's wrong with IFJA. But... it's nice to see Frances Ha finally making it to some of the best film lists.

Last year, 3 IFJA winners won the Oscars, i.e. Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway and Best Documentary for Searching for Sugar Man. Additionally, 5 of the runner-ups won the Oscars in the end. That means IFJA's really close to predicting the real winners. Let's see how it goes at the Oscars this year.
